Brand Orange
Robert Govers

Although my son considers himself Flemish, his arm is increasingly covered by Dutch soccer star tattoos (available in Dutch supermarkets that offer any product imaginable in orange, which are proudly redistributed by his Dutch grandparents). It shows the place branding power of global sports. Sunday finals will be watched by at least 715 million viewers around the world (the size of the global...

We haven’t spoken yet very much about the fundamental essentials of
place
. Is that necessary, you might ask yourself? Yes it is. The word place comes originally from ‘plat’, Proto-Indo-European language, a language spoken 5.500 years ago. Its meaning was then ‘to spread’. By the Greek word ‘plateia’ (broad way) en the Latin word...

By: Erik van ’t Klooster for www.placebrandz.com
In the third episode of our blog series on inspiring places I would like to draw attention to the environmental factors of a place. We all know places where we would rather not reside or where we don’t feel at home. Maybe it is because we don’t like the architecture. Maybe because it is filthy and messy. Maybe because it is not...

Inspiring places (part two): Start your journey
Gerard van Keken

Author: Gerard van Keken
Let us face reality, the world is in crisis: a financial crisis, an economic crisis, but maybe above all, a fundamental crisis about ourselves. It is as Hall (1996, p. 595) and many others stated: ‘a crisis of identity’. Change is everywhere, what was stable yesterday, is uncertain tomorrow. Many of us fear the future and are overwhelmed with feelings of...

Inspiring Places
By Erik van ‘t Klooster
Over the next couple of weeks we will look at the concept of “Inspiring places”. We hope you will come along with us on this journey even though the road might be a bit bumpy at the start.
The perspective in the blog...

How does RSS work?
What is RSS?
RSS (Really Simple Syndication) is a standard for formatting text. This standard won't usually be visible, but the advantage is that a lot of computerprograms (RSS readers) and online applications are able to read this standard. As soon as there's a new article on, for example, MINDZ.com, you immidiately get a notification and you will be able to read the message. RSS is ideal for exchanging contect efficiently. If you are subscribed on multiple RSS-feeds, you can view all the messages, important to you, on one screen.
What's a RSS-feed?
A textfile in RSS format that gets refreshed often is called a RSS-feed. This feed is read by a so called RSS reader or online application, and shows you the new messages immidiately.
What do I need for RSS?
On of the most common used application to read RSS-feeds are RSS-readers. The readers come in different flavors and for each operating system. They gather all the content and show an overview. ( Examples are
FeedReader
,
FeedDemon
en
RSSReader
) You also have a lot of different online readers which are also very usefull. ( For example:
Netvibes
en
Google reader
)
The RSS feeds of MINDZ.com
MINDZ.com offers various feeds. Thus, for example, you can subscribe to weblogs which share your interest and you want to keep in touch with. To find an RSS feed link click on the RSS icon (
) at the item of your interest. A new page will appear with all the items of the feed. If you copy the url from your browser and paste it to your RSS-reader, you can keep track of these feeds without opening the MINDZ.com site. Collect RSS feeds and keep in touch with your chosen weblogs, persons, events and more!
